The Historic Plantation House is a luxury beach front vacation rental. Many come because they heard about us from their friends and other satisfied customers. They heard of fantastic tales of evenings lounging on the lanai watching the sunset, of wading in the protected bay with the mystical turtles (HONU), or of the joyous beach wedding or chapel wedding their friend had in Hawaii. The Historic Plantation Manager's House was built in 1948 by William and Marjorie Robertson. The site overlooks a private rocky point, two white sand beaches, and a shallow lagoon. Built entirely from scratch by the best Hawaiian carpenters, it is a landmark of old Hawaiian design and craftsmanship. It was their weekend retreat from the plantation in Pauillo, where William worked as a manager. As there were few hotels anywhere in Hawaii, William and Marjorie often opened up their homes to guests travelling throughout the island. Millard Sheets, the famous american painter, spent a summer here painting with William out on the lanai. Today,we continue this tradition of opening up our home to guests from around the world.
